On the morning of December 9, 2022, the University of Law, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) solemnly opened the Annual Scientific Conference of the Asian Law and Society Association in 2022 (ALSA 2022). The ALSA 2022 conference "Asian Law and Society: Globalization, Technology, and Uncertainty" was hosted by the VNU University of Law and co-organized by Asian Law and Society Association (ALSA). The ALSA 2022 conference took place from December 9 to December 10, 2022, at the University of Law, VNU.
Attending the opening of the Conference, on VNU's side,
there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Anh Tuan – Deputy Head of the Development
Cooperation Department. On the side of the University of Law, there were
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh – Rector, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Trinh Tien Viet -
Vice Rector. On the side of ALSA, there was Prof. Lynette Chua - President of
the Association. The ALSA 2022 conference was attended by more than 100
international experts from 30 countries and territories covering 5 continents
and 50 Vietnamese experts and scholars.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh gave the opening speech at the Opening Ceremony Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Thi Que Anh said that the Annual Meeting of the Asian Law and Society Association is a prestigious jurisprudence event in Asia. This year, the University of Law, VNU is honored to be the host of this event after nearly 3 years of lockdown due to the Covid 19 epidemic. The University of Law is an active university in international integration through the organization of international seminars to improve the capacity of the teaching staff, as well as to share with the legal community around the world the knowledge that professors and lecturers of the University have accumulated in research activities. The ALSA 2022 Conference is one of the great opportunities for the University to achieve that development goal. She also thanked Prof. Lynette Chua – President of ALSA – who has supported the University for more than a year now in preparing for the Conference, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and other government authorities of Vietnam for allowing us to organize this international conference.
Prof. Lynette Chua - President of the Asian Law and Society Association also expressed her joy when the 2022 ALSA Meeting was held after a long time of the Covid 19 epidemic. She thanked the University for the warm welcome and thoughtful organization. She wishes the Conference success. ALSA 2022 conference is divided into 28 thematic sessions to discuss in-depth issues raised in the interdisciplinary field between law and society in the context of globalization, the rapid development of technology, and the uncertainty of the modern world.
